Method · Limits of application
NRS 2002/ESPEN Kondrup 2003: 2 domains 0–3, age≥70 +1, total 0–7
NRS-2002 is risk screening based on the combination of nutritional status and disease severity. Its development distinguished study groups more likely to benefit; a total does not guarantee an individual response or prescribe the route or dose of nutritional support. Definitions, eligibility and age must match the version.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.
Documented parameters
- Impaired nutritional status
- Disease severity (increased requirements)
- Age ≥ 70 years
3/3 reference cases checked. Numerical tests are not clinical validation.
Relationship with cancer research
Support for research — context required
Nutritional screening for hospitalized patients. Use in an oncology study requires an appropriate population and an explicit nutritional question.
