Partial Mayo/Lewis 2008: 3 items 0–3, total 0–9, without endoscopic component
Partial Mayo is a measure of activity and response in ulcerative colitis, with three components and no endoscopy; it is not equivalent to full Mayo and does not assess endoscopic healing. Lewis 2008 analyzed 105 patients with mild to moderate disease in a 12-week trial and compared change with patient-perceived improvement. That design does not establish universal performance in severe disease, children or other colitides. Record the symptom period and physician’s assessment; the total does not determine treatment alone.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.
Documented parameters
- Stool frequency
- Rectal bleeding
- Physician global assessment
3/3 reference cases checked. Numerical tests are not clinical validation.
