Glasgow Coma Scale (with GCS-P)
Quantifies consciousness through eye opening, verbal and motor responses. GCS-P subtracts the pupillary reactivity score and extends prognostic information in traumatic brain injury.

GCS 3–15/Teasdale 1974; 2014 procedure; GCS-P/Brennan 2018: subtract pupillary score 0–2
Describe eye, verbal and motor responses as well as the total. GCS-P is the 2018 extension that subtracts pupil reactivity, studied in TBI cohorts. The score alone does not include all prognostic factors; assessments that are prevented or confounded require checking the edition’s instructions.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.
Documented parameters
- Eye opening (E)
- Verbal response (V)
- Best motor response (M)
- Pupillary light reactivity
5/5 reference cases checked. Numerical tests are not clinical validation.
Relationship with cancer research
General context — relationship to be defined
A resource for general clinical contexts. This edition does not assign a specific oncological relationship; selecting it for a study requires a justified question, population and purpose.
