Laboratory unit conversion
Converts common biochemical tests between conventional mg/dL and International System units, for reading foreign papers and guidelines.

SI conversions/Young 1987: explicit molar masses and rounded factors; BUN≠urea
Select the analyte and unit: mass concentration and amount-of-substance concentration are different quantities, linked by the molar mass of the specified entity. Factors in this interface are rounded; triglycerides use a triolein basis. BUN expresses urea nitrogen rather than urea mass, so they are not interchangeable. Conversion does not change the laboratory method or establish a reference interval. The original Young 1987 tables have not been fully checked; certification of all factors by that source is not claimed.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.

Relationship with cancer research
General context — relationship to be defined
A resource for general clinical contexts. This edition does not assign a specific oncological relationship; selecting it for a study requires a justified question, population and purpose.
