Method · Limits of application
Packs of 20 cigarettes; pack-years; USPSTF 2021 cutoff: age 50–80, ≥20 pack-years, cessation≤15 years
The USPSTF 2021 criteria concern annual screening with low-dose CT in adults aged 50–80 years with a history of at least 20 pack-years who currently smoke or quit within the past 15 years. The recommendation also calls for stopping screening after 15 years without smoking or when health conditions substantially limit life expectancy or the ability/willingness to undergo curative lung surgery. The pack-year calculation does not assess these clinical conditions.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.
