BISAP score
Simple bedside score during the first 24 hours identifying acute pancreatitis patients at higher risk of in-hospital death, organ failure and necrosis.

BISAP/Wu 2008: 5 factors, first 24 h; BUN >25 mg/dL; age >60
The 2008 BISAP uses data from the first 24 hours of acute pancreatitis to stratify in-hospital mortality risk. BUN >25 mg/dL and age >60 years are score items, not minimum inclusion criteria. Assessment of necrosis, organ failure and applicability to subgroups depend on their respective sources; observed rates do not establish individual prognostic certainty.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.
Documented parameters
- Urea > 53 mg/dL (BUN > 25 mg/dL)
- Altered mental status (Glasgow < 15)
- SIRS (2 or more criteria)
- Age > 60 years
- Pleural effusion on imaging
2/2 reference cases checked. Numerical tests are not clinical validation.

General context — relationship to be defined
A resource for general clinical contexts. This edition does not assign a specific oncological relationship; selecting it for a study requires a justified question, population and purpose.
