Estimates disease severity and hospital mortality in adults admitted to ICU from 12 physiological variables, age, chronic disease and diagnostic category.

APACHE II/Knaus 1985: 12 variables; age; chronic disease; oxygenation by FiO₂; diagnosis-specific logistic model
APACHE II from 1985 was associated with hospital mortality in 5815 ICU admissions at 13 hospitals. The prognostic stratification described by the authors combines the score with a precise description of the disease; the total alone does not reproduce that diagnostic information. The collection window, exclusions and applicability outside this population require checking in the full method.
Conditions of use
Check the population, units, inclusion and exclusion criteria, and version in the original source. A result alone does not establish a diagnosis, discharge decision or prescription.

General context — relationship to be defined
A resource for general clinical contexts. This edition does not assign a specific oncological relationship; selecting it for a study requires a justified question, population and purpose.
